Machine Maintenance 1 Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustment or repair. 2 Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of parts required and places order from the manufacturers. 3 Dismantles machines or equipment to examine parts for defects or to replace defective parts with new parts or performs other reparirs as needed. 4 Assembles and test operates machines to verify correction of malfunctions. 5 Periodically performs routine maintenance and testing of machines and equipment. 6 Maintains, lubricates and cleans machine tools and equipment. 7 Identifies potential causes of accidents and recommends changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents. 8 Analyzes and identifies ineffective production operations procedures to improve operational efficiency and product quality; makes improvement personally or through vendors under direction of senior management.
