Bilingual Japanese Application Engineer (78203-1)
Essential Functions
• Interface with engineering team in Japan in responding to customer requirements; including providing
product technical documentation, engineering drawings, 3D models, test report etc.
• Interface with QA team in Japan to manage customer and field escalation by driving root cause
analysis and corrective action, providing failure analysis report, QA documentations to customer for
full resolution
• Provide technical support to customers for gas delivery components for semiconductor manufacturing;
coordinate between local sales team with factory’s Engineering team in formulating responses,
proposals and solutions.
• Support associated functional team members by managing First Article Inspection from submission to
approval from customer.
• Assist new business development/sales team in making technical presentations/product data
analysis/engineering test reports to customers.
• Develop and maintain internal engineering documentations.
Engineering
• Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications
• Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users
• Respond to functional and technical elements of Requests for Information (RFIs)/ Requests for
Proposal (RFPs)
• Listen, understand and convey customer requirements
• Identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction
through all stages of the sales process
• Perform technical/ product training for salespeople, estimators, and engineers at targeted accounts
• Assist in the design and development of new products and tools necessary to make target accounts
comfortable and successful at selling lighting controls
• Travel to project sites to preform start-up, integration, troubleshooting and training services
• Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
• Actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
Miscellaneous
• Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values,
and financial objectives
• Maintain professional business relationships within assigned customers
• Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects in a periodically manner
• Identify customers’ needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
Supervisory Responsibility
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Engineering (preferably mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering) or
Sciences (physics) from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and
experience
Experience
• 2+ years of industry experience in a similar position
Requirement
• Bilingual in Japanese and English, ability to read, write, and speak
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work with minimal
supervision.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and instrumentation.
