Business Development Sales Manager (46071-5)
LOCATION: Long Beach, CA / Hybrid

ROLE PURPOSE
The Business Development Sales Manager is responsible for solution-based sales, which requires the development and implementation of contractual businesses and strategies to create value for the customer, and to achieve the company’s growth. This position involves understanding customers' challenges/needs, and planning/proposing tailored solutions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
· Proactively identify and engage potential customers through in-person and online meetings to establish, maintain, and develop relationships.
· Analyze customers' supply chain and logistics data to identify business opportunities and conduct proposal for both logistics and non-logistics services, such as digital solutions and BPO services.
· Negotiate competitive rates, terms, and service contracts with vendors and customers to ensure business profitability.
· Create and provide professional reports to customers, such as results, KPIs, etc.
· Collaborate with other departments in building new solutions and ensuring seamless service provision, including training operational employees for newly developed strategies.
· Prioritize, plan, and execute assignments efficiently and within established time frames.
· Provide comprehensive activity reports to the Department Manager on a regular basis.
· Undertake and complete special projects assigned by the Department Manager.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
· Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English.
· Not required, but preferable to possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written in Japanese.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years’ experience of logistics of sales or operation required.
· 3+ years’ experience of sales of domestic logistics required.
· Experience in sales of international logistics preferred but not required.
· Team management experience preferred but not required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
· Must possess the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of customers and internal leadership.
· Must possess the ability to identify and capitalize on business development opportunities.
· Must possess strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
· Must be proficient in PowerPoint.
· Must be proficient in analyzing data utilizing basic Excel functions.
· Must be able to travel as required.
· Preferably possess skills in analyzing data in higher level utilizing macros on Excel and BI tools.
· Preferably possess skills for developing and educating team members.
· Preferably possess comprehensive knowledge of international and domestic logistics operations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Statement
Work is performed in a standard office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The ability to read, complete simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress are important in achieving job objectives. The employee should be able to speak, read and comprehend fluent English.
