General Position Summary
This position is responsible for setting up and operating variety of machine tools, and fitting and assembling parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintaining packaging and production machines as well as company's facilities by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions
Machine and Facility Maintenance
1 Turns switch on to set up production lines prior to start of the daily operation; ensures that all machines and equipment are clean and working properly.
2 Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and to determine need for adjustment or repair.
3 Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of parts required
4 Dismantles machines or equipment to examine parts for defects or to replace defective parts with new parts or performs other repairs as needed.
5 Assembles and test operates machines to verify correction of malfunctions.
6 Periodically performs routine maintenance and testing of machines and equipment.
7 Maintains, lubricates and cleans machine tools and equipment.
8 Identifies potential causes of accidents and recommends changes in policies and procedures to prevent accidents.
9 Analyzes and identifies ineffective production operation procedures to improve operational efficiency and product quality; makes improvement personally or through vendors under direction of senior management.
10 Keep tracks of machinery parts inventories and maintains inventory records. Places order from the manufacturers in Japan.
11 Maintains plant facilities performing minor repairs, and other related maintenance activities.

Quality Control
1 Randomly tests finished products to detect metal substances and to verify accurate weights at specified stages in production process.
2 Maintains and calibrates a metal detector and a weight checker.
3 Communicates with the Quality Control Department in regards to defects.

Other & Miscellaneous
1 Complies with all company policies and procedures.
2 Complies with OSHA/HACCP regulations.
3 Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
4 Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
5 Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
6 Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
7 Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution.
8 Maintains good communication with management, other staff members and outside contacts.
9 Achieves positive relationships with customers, visitors, and all levels of company staff; treats others with respects and courtesy.

Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to tree months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least two years of previous experience in a similar position.

Tools/Equipment
General office equipment including phones, fax, copier, scanner, postage machine, personal computer, etc.
Software includes the use of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
Tools & Equipment, including machine tools, electric tools, and welding machine. Personal protection equipment.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to frequently sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms. The employee must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include the ability to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen, measure or identify using eyesight and adjust vision focus.
No travel is required.
