Temp to Hire Accounting Assistant Manager  (44039-7)

● Bilingual (reading, writing, and speaking) in Japanese is required or ability to learn Japanese development ERP system (JDE) and standard costing in Japanese
● Five or more years of previous experience in a combination of functions including accounting, finance and U.S.tax compliance.
● Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Excellent Excel skills, such as processing Pivot table, VLOOKUP and ERP dates.
General Position Summary
This is a bilingual (English/Japanese) position that is responsible for the Company’s accounting activities. Is
responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of the Company’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial
statements, for delivery of financial results to the Company’s parent company and for daily cash flow
management. In addition, provides daily work supervision and oversight to the Accounting department’s personnel and assist the Accounting Managers to provide professional advice to senior management regarding the financial performance of the Company.


Essential Job Functions
MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
● Assist the Manager to achieves accounting and company goals and mission.
● Provides a leadership role in all aspects of the company’s accounting/financial operations to the extent possible.
● Assist the Manager to provide accurate and timely financial information and reports to CFO and the Parent company as scheduled.
● Performs the day-to-day supervision of the Accounting personnel including identifying and solving problems,verifying that documents are correct.
● Trains the Accounting personnel.
● Provides oversight to overseas subsidiary.
● Resolves outstanding problems pointed out by auditors and places a high priority on resolution.
● Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

DAILY TRANSACTIONS
● Supervises day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation including, but not limited to, the followings:
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
- Maintain the chart of accounts.
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.

● Responds to inquiries (primarily relating to system related accounting issues) from other departments, the management, executives and the parent company regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.










BOOK CLOSING
● Monitors entries in the general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting.
● Coordinates the monthly book close and perform account reconciliation review and analysis.
● Prepares stand-alone financial statements for the US entities (MAC and Corbin).
● Reconciles key GL accounts including inventory to sub-ledgers.
● Prepares reserve worksheet for excess and slow-moving inventories.
● Calculates manufacturing overhead.
● Reviews reconciled GL accounts performed by accounting personnel.
● Performs and analyzes GL accounts subject to judgement and estimate.
● Reviews subsidiaries’ financial statements and prepares consolidated financial statements.
● Performs financial analysis, monitor variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
● Manages ERP (JDE) system closing.

TREASURY MANAGEMENT
● Monitors daily cash flows to maximizes return and limit risk on cash by minimizing bank balances.
● Monitors debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.

REPORTING
● Develops monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting reports for the management, executive teams and the parent company.
● Assists the CFO to prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
● Prepares meeting materials by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
● Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends as necessary.

COMPLIANCE
● Coordinates the year-end financial audit and preparing schedules and documents for external financial auditors.
● Assists in the compilation of information for the Company’s annual tax returns.
● Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

OTHER & MISCELLANEOUS
● Supports ERP project (master maintenance, summarizing JDE accounting data to meet users’ needs, etc.)
● Supports Aero project (accounting system initial set up)
● Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
● Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
● Reports all irregular issues and problems to the Accounting Manager for solution.
● Maintains good communication with the Accounting personnel.
● Maintains a clean and safe working area.
● Performs other accounting duties, as required or requested by the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Five or more years of previous experience in a combination of functions including accounting, finance and U.S. tax compliance.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
● General office equipment including phones, fax, copier, personal computer, etc.
● Software includes the use of Windows operating system, MS Office, familiarity with ERP systems (JD Edwards)
● ADP payroll software

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES
● Accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
